Narendra Modi – Biography

Born in India in 1950, Narendra Modi’s life is full of interesting events and achievements. Today he is famous as the Prime Minister of India. Narendra Modi has become the Prime Minister of India for the second time since 2014. Let us tell you the story of his life in few words.

Birth and early life of Narendra Modi

Narendra Modi was born on 17 September 1950 in a Hindu Gujarati grocer family in Vadnagar, Mehsana district of Bombay State (presently in Gujarat). He was the third of six children born to Damodardas Mulchand Modi 1915 who died 1989 and Heeraben Modi 1920. He belonged to a backward class community. His full name was Narendra Damodardas Modi.Narendra Modi was engaged to Jashodaben at the age of 13 and got married at the age of 17. According to a news, the husband and wife spent some years living together. But after some time both of them separated for each other. While the biographers of Narendra Modi have to deny this. According to him their marriage is true but they have never lived together. After a few years of marriage, Narendra Modi left the house and in a way his married life was almost over. Modi used to act in plays during his education, in which he used to play big characters. That is why his political image is so influential. It is said that Modi ji used to sell tea at the railway station but no evidence was found after this, Modi ji remained the Chief Minister of Gujarat for 13 years and during this he did not mention anything about it. He started mentioning this after becoming the Prime Minister of India.

Political Career

Prime Minister Indira Gandhi suddenly declared a state of emergency in June 1975 and jailed all her political opponents. This emergency lasted till 1977. The RSS appointed Narendra Modi to the Gujarat Lok Sangharsh Samiti. That is when the RSS was basically banned. This ban forced Modi to go underground. To avoid their arrest, they traveled in disguise. During this, Modi was collecting money and printing pamphlets against the government, safe houses for political refugees. Modi had to struggle a lot in this work. Modi mentioned several times that sometimes he used to travel in the guise of a beggar and a Sardar.

In 1978, after the Emergency was over, Modi was made the organizer of the RSS. Seeing his works, he was called in 1979 to do RSS work in Delhi.

Chief Minister of Gujrat

Modi contested the Rajkot Assembly elections and defeated Ashwin Mehta of the Congress Party by 14,728 votes. As soon as Modi became the Chief Minister, he did many commendable works in Gujarat and implemented new projects like Panchamrit Yojana, Sujalam Suflam, agricultural festival, Chiranjeevi Scheme, Mother worship, Save our daughters, Jyotigram Scheme, Karmayogi Campaign, Kanya Kalavani Scheme
Child Welfare Scheme which won the hearts of Gujarat and Gujaratis.

And remained the Chief Minister of Gujarat till 2014 because the Bharatiya Janata Party got a majority in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and Modi was elected for the post of Prime Minister and today is the Prime Minister in 2022. It is estimated that in 2024 also the Bharatiya Janata Party will form this government.

Godhra Incident

The Muslims of Gujarat were angry with the demolition of the Babari Masjid, as a result of which on 27 February 2002, kar sevaks returning from Ayodhya to Gujarat were burnt alive by a violent mob of Muslims in a train standing at Godhra station. 59 kar sevaks were killed in this accident. Hindu-Muslim riots started in Gujarat from this incident. In this incident, 1180 Hindus and Muslims were killed, of which the majority belonged to the minorities. The New York Times blamed Modi for this. All opposition parties demanded Modi’s resignation and Modi resigned without delay. After his resignation, President’s rule was imposed in Gujarat. Re-elections were held in the state, in which the Bharatiya Janata Party, under the leadership of Modi, won 127 of the total 182 seats in the Legislative Assembly.

The Supreme Court sent a special investigation team in April 2009 and wanted to find out whether there was a conspiracy by Narendra Modi in the Gujarat riots. Congress MP Ehsan Jafri was also killed in these riots and this special investigation team was killed in the riots and this investigation team was sent on the complaint of widow Zakia Jafri. After the investigation, in December 2010, the Supreme Court ruled on the SIT report that no solid evidence was found against Narendra Modi in these riots. Objected to this decision, due to which the Supreme Court, keeping the decision safe, asked the magistrate of Ahmedabad to investigate it impartially and give its decision without delay. In April 2012, another Special Investigation Team (SIT) reiterated Modi’s finding that he had no direct hand in the riots. This investigation team said that under sections 153A, 153B, 166 and 505 of the Indian Penal Code, Narendra Modi can be punished for the crime of spreading disharmony between different communities. However, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) criticized this report, calling it a document full of maliciousness and prejudice.
