Who is Dhiraj Prasad Sahu?
Dhiraj Prasad Sahu is Congress MP from Chhattisgarh. He started his political journey in 1977 and went to jail in 1978 in the Jail Bharo movement. He was nominated to the Rajya Sabha in 2009 and 2010.
Raid on Dhiraj Prasad Sahu
On 6 December 2023, the IT department suddenly raided the house of Dhiraj Prasad Sahu in which they found many shelves. When these shelves were opened, the IT team was shocked. He found that all these shelves were filled with bundles of notes. Which were not easy to count. To do the counting, the department called for several counting machines and bank employees were also called for this counting. After 5 days of hard work this count has reached above 351 crores.
What will be the next step for IT?
According to the IT Department, after the counting is completed, signatures will be taken on the list of recovered cash from Dhiraj Prasad Sahu and then information about the source of this cash will be taken from him. Because according to Indian law no one can keep cash above Rs 2 lakh. They will also be asked what they were going to do with so much cash. BJP leaders allege that this amount was to be used to win the 2024 elections, they also alleged that the Gandhi family has a hand in it.
Congress shied away
Congress remained silent for so many days on the recovery of so much cash in the IT raid and finally Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said on Saturday that the party is in no way connected with the business of MP Dheeraj Sahu, in whose premises the IT department had found piles of cash. Was disclosed.
Jairam Ramesh said, “Only he can and should tell the huge amount of cash that the Income Tax officials have allegedly recovered from his properties.” And shrugged it off. This shows that for Congress, corruption by others is not corruption. And neither is anyone opposing her MP nor is anyone raising slogans.
Apprehension
The receipt of this money is creating many apprehensions among the people which may prove to be harmful for the Congress and its allies for the 2024 elections. The public is angry because the party which used to accuse PM Modi’s government of corruption is not showing its face today. If Congress and its allies continue to look down on others by not taking any strong action against their leaders, then it will have a negative impact on the public and will have to face defeat.
In the end, it can be said that all the opposition parties make allegations of corruption but there is no big opposition leader against whom corruption case is not going on, even many leaders have been proved accused. But some people among the people of India do not use their understanding and are happy to vote for such parties. Their thinking is that the Gandhi family has made sacrifices for the country but this is not true.
